Halloween has passed on November is officially upon us. (I hope you are all ready for Christmas commercials, because I have already seen several!) I had a decent amount trick-or-treaters this year, and enjoyed every one of them. But I did still have some candy leftover. You won't hear me complain about that, because I bought some good stuff this year!
By "the good stuff" I mean my favorite candy bar--Snickers. I don't always eat candy bars. But when I do, I eat Snickers. They are tremendous. I also greatly enjoy peanut butter cookies. So why not put them together? One great treat + another great treat = 1 really great treat! If you have some leftover Snickers from Halloween, do yourself a favor and use them to make these awesome cookies. If you don't have any leftover Snickers from Halloween, take advantage of candy clearance and get some!

Twix Caramel Popcorn
Believe it or not, I used to think I didn't like caramel popcorn. As a kid, when my family got one of those bins of popcorn for Christmas, I stuck with plain stuff, and maybe took a handful of white cheddar. But no caramel for me. I also thought I didn't like chocolate. I was a very stupid child. Now I know that I love both. Unfortunately, maybe I love both a little too much!
I saw this recipe for Twix caramel popcorn on Two Peas and Their Pod's website and knew I had to try it. Caramel corn drizzled with melted chocolate and garnished with Twix bars sounds pretty darn good to me! I bought a big bag of Twix Fun Size candy bars and have been playing around with adding them to some goodies while trying to keep my husband out of them. Some of my experiments have been more successful than others. Some days I have been more successful at keeping my husband out of the Twix than others. This recipe came from a tested source so it wasn't much of an experiment. But it was totally successful!

Chocolate Reese's Pieces Cookies
I did a bad, bad thing. I don't buy shoes just because I see them in the store and want them. I don't stop and get a cappuccino whenever the mood hits me. I am not an impulse shopper. Except for food. For some reason, I can't help myself. If I find a good deal when I'm in the grocery store, I pull the trigger. So when I went to the store on November 1st and saw the Halloween candy on sale, I bought a few bags. I don't even eat candy most of the time.
One of the candies I bought was Reese's Pieces. My husband loves chocolate and peanut butter, and I thought he would have them eaten after day one. But he was oddly abstaining. Although he was resisting the candy, I know he can't resist cookies. So I decided to make some cookies with my purchase. I considered peanut butter cookies with the candy in it, but thought it would be too peanut buttery. Chocolate cookies seemed like a better balance.
What a good call. These were amazing! Soft, chewy, moist, chocolate and peanut butter goodness. Maybe they were too good. I am totally addicted! Make at your own risk!
